Ian says exactly what we are all thinking, “bringing Nick in I don’t question his intentions, I question your intentions.” Boom, baby! Obviously after saying that to Kaitlyn though…bye Ian. He is just too deep and perfect in every single way. Being on The Bachelorette is a punishment for being an intelligence. Those are his words, by the way. This man needs to date Sharleen from Juan Pablo’s season. Oy vey. Can we just get a rose ceremony already?
Nick is being all weird and romantic with Kaitlyn. He already has a rose, but he’s a villain and chose right now to have a deep conversation with recently-accused-of-not-being-deep Kaitlyn. Surprisingly, all of the guys and angry and Joshua is ready to go crazy…again. If I could find a gif of Ted Mosby saying, “I want to know you, like, know your soul.” it would be here.
Guess what? We get a rose ceremony tonight! Roses go to Jared, Cupcake (who wanted a rose so bad he would pull his own tooth for one. Get it? He’s a dentist.), JJ, Joe, Ben Z., and Tanner. Joshua isn’t very pleased that he is leaving and Nick is still around. Maybe if he wouldn’t have acted like a total douchenozzle on the group date, he would be staying. I still think he is Kaitlyn’s loss though. Joshua, I’m single.
In Dublin, Kaitlyn says that she is excited to go further with the guys. Hey Kaitlyn, worse choice of words ever given what is in store for this week. Nick gets the first one-on-one date this week because of course Nick got the first one-on-one date this week. As much as I don’t like him, Nick is acting like a new person this season. I think I would like him a lot if this were the first season he had been on. He’s being nice, sweet, funny, and down for embarrassing himself. Be it an act or a changed man, Kaitlyn is falling for it. Their date consists on walking around a park, walking around a church, oh and some fornication. Nick got a rose, obviously.
Kaitlyn thinks she is “really falling for Nick.” Which is good. You should definitely be falling for someone and also dating a handful of other guys when you decide to go all the way. It bothers me that she can’t trust him enough to not say something to the other guys. The next morning, we see Kaitlyn talking to a producer off-camera about how she hopes he keeps his mouth shut. He kind of does. He tells them that he spent the night talking in her suite. They’re big boys. They’re not dumb. They know. So she can’t trust him, and she shouldn’t trust him. Send. Him. Home. Now. But she can’t. Now she is in the trap of “how could you make love to me if you don’t love me” if she tries to send him home.
The group date goes to Ben H., Tanner, Shawn, Ben Z., Jared, and Cupcake. Chris Harrison tells the men that Kaitlyn is dead and they will be celebrating her life with a traditional Irish wake. That’s…something. It was only a little bit funny but a lot offensive. These men have sob stories, remember. And also, one of the contestants on the last season died. I think they could have come up with something else to do in Ireland. Couldn’t they go kiss the Blarney Stone? That would be cute. Here is my group date observation: Ben Z. is hilarious. He makes jokes about how Kaitlyn is dating a bunch of other guys, but he calls her his girlfriend and it’s really sweet.
The second part of the group date takes place at the Guinness showroom. It is AWESOME. Does anyone want to go there with me? Kaitlyn got a chance to talk to all of the guys, and gave the group date rose to Jared. I’m pretty surprised because she had really personal conversation with Ben Z. and Shawn, the latter of whom is really angry about not getting the rose. Kaitlyn and Jared go and dance and listen to Kaitlyn’s favorite band, The Cranberries.
When they got back to the hotel, Shawn went to talk to Kaitlyn. Before he even says anything, Kaitlyn is crying and worrying and freaking out. Thanks to this being the most dramatic season in Bachelorette history, we will probably never get a rose ceremony ever again.
Who’s Gonna Last? (My predictions, not spoilers.)
So what do YOU think? Did she send the wrong guys home? Will we ever see another episode end with a rose ceremony? Is Ireland as beautiful in person as it is on The Bachelorette? Talk to me, peeps.
