Greetings, Bachelor Nation. We’ve got quite a bit to catch up on from our dramatic two-night Bachelorette special. Let’s dive in.
The first one-on-one this week went to Chase. JoJo took her date to a yoga studio that is much different than any yoga studio you’ve probably been to before. After throwing a fake tantrum, JoJo and Chase straddled each other and sat forehead to forehead until they broke the sexual tension with a make-out session. I go to yoga a lot and this has never happened in my classes. Then again, I’m not really looking for a make-out session with the sweaty 60 year old man seated next to me. Anyway, after yoga Chase and JoJo enjoyed a nice dinner, where Chase told JoJo that marriage is something that he wants to do once and he wants to do right. This is why he is looking for love on a reality show. After JoJo gave him the date rose, they danced and kissed to the sounds of their own personal concert. I’m sure it was JoJo’s favorite band.
The first group date this week was for Jordan, Grant, Wells, James F., Christian, Ali, Daniel, Vinny, Nick, Evan, Alex, and Chad. Surprisingly, Chad had an issue with being chosen for the group date. I get his frustrations in not wanting to share this date, but dude, it’s The Bachelorette. He sounded a lot like Jubilee this week when she refused to tell Ben that she loved him in Spanish because the other girls had already said the same thing. Read the fine print people, know what you are signing up for. On this date, the men were taken to a comedy show where people got up and told their most embarrassing and hilarious sex stories. Daniel told a story about how he always keeps a knife with him and once cut off a lock of a girl’s hair. Daniel should have immediately been sent home. The real drama of the date came from Evan and Chad. The two had been at each other’s throats all week, and Evan took this time to really use his erectile disfunction specialist knowledge and roast Chad for his bit. He talked about what steroid use can do to penis size and although he never mentioned Chad personally, it was made clear who he was talking about because certain people (Alex) live for this house drama and were guffawing in the front row the whole time. When Evan went to sit back down, he “pushed” Chad, causing Chad to have to “defend himself” and grab Evan’s shirt. JoJo clearly sensed that something was up. Chad’s story was “about the future,” and he invited JoJo up on stage to kiss him. It didn’t go as he had planned. On his way out, his fist ran into a door.
At dinner that night, Evan gave JoJo somewhat of an ultimatum after explaining his side of the afternoon’s ordeal: either Chad goes, or he does. JoJo thought this over, evaluating the strange way that Chad was acting all night. In the end, she gave the date rose to Evan, but told him in private that she still wasn’t sure if she was ready to send Chad home. The other guys don’t know that Chad’s mom passed away not too long ago, and JoJo thought that that might have something to do with the reason why he is always lashing out. So, the rose went to Evan and Chad had this reaction. Honestly, I was kind of thinking the same thing.
The next one-on-one date was for James Taylor. This was the best part of both episodes. JT is so happy and excited about life. He made the date look like so much fun- he learned to swing dance (despite saying he was awful at it), sang a song to JoJo (about her relationship with Ben. Eek!), and smiled so hard that you couldn’t help but smile yourself. It sounds so cheesy, but he is just such a cutie. After he and JoJo went back in time for an afternoon, they enjoyed an evening under the stars. She wasn’t sure at first if she felt the connection with him, but by the end of the date she seemed very happy about giving him the date rose.
Meanwhile, back at the mansion, security guards were called because of Chad. Derek moved bedrooms because he didn’t feel safe sharing a room with Chad, and most conversations stopped when he entered the room. This dude creates more drama in a Bachelor mansion than anyone else I have ever seen on the show, even Juan Pablo. When Chris Harrison came over to announce that instead of a cocktail party they were going to have a pool party, Evan pulled him aside to tell him about what has been happening in the house. Chris got Chad’s side of the story too, but he clearly didn’t buy it. Chris asked him to apologize, something I’m not sure Chad has ever done based on how he did it, and that was the end of Monday night’s episode.
Night two began with the pool party. The preview for this episode had us expecting some blood at this party, which would have most likely been at the hands of Chad. In reality, Evan got a nosebleed. It was no one’s fault. While the guys each took their time to talk to JoJo, Chad’s name continued to be brought up. Normally I don’t like when people take their time with the Bachelor(ette) to talk about other people in the house, but Chad is straight up dangerous. He called a few of the guys out for talking about him too, but none of them denied it. You can’t really hide that you’re terrified of someone when security is called and you switch bedrooms because of them. That night, roses went to Grant, Derek, Jordan, Luke, Robby, Wells, James F., Vinny, Daniel, Alex, and Chad. After a dramatic week, it was time to leave the mansion for good and head to glamorous Pennsylvania!
The first date in Pennsylvania was a one-on-one for Luke. They got to their date with a sled and a pack of dogs. It was amazing. Luke and JoJo shared some very warm hot tub time together and talked about how they both love the same cities, which is very important in a relationship. After an emotional story about Luke’s time in the military, he and JoJo went off to a concert that was (this time) not private. While Dan + Shay sang a love song, Luke and JoJo stood in front of the crowd and kissed. Luke got a rose on his date.
The next date in Pennsylvania was a group date for Rob, Derek, Chase, Jordan, Wells, James Taylor, Vinnie, James F., Daniel, Grant, and Evan. If you’re keeping track at home, that is everyone but Alex and Chad, which means the next date was a two-on-one. The group date, however, was a football date with Ben Roethlisberger- wonderful choice of guest from The Bachelor producers. The guys were split up into two teams and the winning team would get to spend the rest of the evening with JoJo. Jordan played on both teams, which seemed fair and unfair at the same time. Evan got another bloody nose on this date. JoJo told Ben on this date that Chase was one of her favorites, all about Jordan’s all-star brother, and how James Taylor was the nicest guy she’d ever met. Speaking of him, he got into a bit of an accident during the game and ended up like this. Yikes.
Derek ended up intercepting a pass from Wells and won the game for his team. The rose for this group date went to Jordan, but that didn’t stop Robby and JoJo from having this steamy make-out session.
Finally, Chad and Alex had their one-on-one date. Before they left, the following exchange happened:
Chad: You think I can’t find you when this is over? You think I can’t find you and come to your house and beat your ass?
Jordan: Do you think I’m scared?
Chad: I think you should be.
This conversation would lead to Chad’s ultimate demise. Right when Alex, Chad, and JoJo finished their hike, they sat down for the world’s most awkward and silent picnic. JoJo took Alex aside first, and he immediately told her that Chad was still threatening people, right up until that morning even. JoJo went to talk to Chad about that, and he continued to deny it. He told her that he hadn’t been violent. She said, “You threatened to beat people!.” Chad responded with a brilliant, “Yeah, so they would be quiet.” I get that the guy was frustrated about people talking about him, but obviously threatening to beat their ass isn’t the answer. Chad was also really frustrated with Alex, and told him that he was lucky he couldn’t hit him right then, proving that Alex made the right decision in telling JoJo that afternoon. Obviously, Chad did not receive a rose and JoJo didn’t even say goodbye to him. Instead, she went off to a cozy cabin with Alex, leaving Chad alone in the woods. He didn’t stay there for long though. The last thing we saw before the dreaded “To Be Continued” was this shot of Chad back at the guys’ house in Pennsylvania. The fun’s not over, people!
Who’s Gonna Last? (My predictions, not spoilers.)
In lieu of tweets this week, I’ll leave you with a Chad quote. Think of it as our final goodbye to one of the greatest Bachelor villains of all time.
So, what do YOU think? Should Chad have stayed longer? Should Evan have gotten a rose? Are the guys being too nosy with each other? Did Nick resemble Ben Roethlisberger? Let me know what you think in the comments! And if you made it to the end of this blog, congrats and thank you! Please share it on Facebook! :*
See you in two weeks!
