Week 2 of The Bachelor is when shit gets “real.” This week there were two groups dates and the first one-on-one. For the occasion, my friends and I drank this lovely wine. We will revisit the Bachelor Nation alcohol when we get to the fantasy suite.
The first group date was for Sarah, Alexis, Lacey, Jasmine, Raven, Danielle L., Taylor, Corinne, Vanessa, and Brittany. The girls went with Nick and had bridal themed photoshoots. This seemed like a strange subject for a first date, but it allowed them to be silly and have fun with it. The photoshoot subjects were a Vegas wedding, a biker, a shotgun wedding (Alexis the
dolphin shark killed this one), an 80’s bride, a traditional wedding (while I would have opted for the word “classic”), a princess, an Adam and Eve theme, and a beach wedding. The Adam and Eve theme caused a bit of an issue among the other girls (mostly Corinne) because this was her costume.
Corinne rectified her situation by taking her top off at her beach themed photoshoot which left everyone but her and the photographer very uncomfortable. Despite everyone else’s feelings, she was chosen by the photographer to have another “traditional” photoshoot with Nick. The rest of this photoshoot caused only a little bit of a stir because it was the first time that the girls saw Nick kissing other people. This worried Raven, especially when she saw him with Corinne, because she started to wonder if all of the rumors she had heard about him were true.
At dinner that night, the girls took turns interrupting each other. Again, Corinne was the biggest troublemaker here. After Taylor cut in on her
make-out session chatting with Nick, she went BACK OVER to them and stole Nick away again. Girl…this is not the way to get time with him. He will notice that you are being crazy. I hope. At the end of the date, she still ended up with a rose. None of the girls had much to say about this, and I really don’t either.
The first one-on-one date went to Danielle M. I am glad to report that I predicted that correctly on my fantasy league! If you’d like to join, click here. It’s not too late, and it might be possible for you to catch up at some point! Anyway, Nick took Danielle M. on the classic Bachelor Nation date, a helicopter ride and an afternoon on a yacht. I like Danielle M. a lot and I think Nick did too. They laughed while they chatted in the hot tub ON THE BOAT. It was pretty cool. At dinner, Danielle M. talked to Nick more personally than she had before. She told him about how a few years ago she found her fiance dead in their home from a drug overdose. I’m sure it was his plan anyway, but Nick gave her the rose after that and they ended their night on a ferris wheel like a dream date come true.
Back at the mansion, Liz’s secret was about to burst out of her. She decided to confide in Christen and tell her that she rejected Nick after their hookup because she wanted to know him outside of a hookup? I don’t know. Homegirl is confused and she should have just given Nick her number in the first place. She clearly liked him then and she definitely feels like she missed out on something. This became even more evident on the second group date.
Nick took Christen, Josephine, Astrid, Jaimi, Kristina, and Liz to the Museum of Broken Relationships. Eeek! Speaking of broken relationships, Nick could hardly look Liz in the eye while they walked through the museum. While Nick was showing the ladies the ring he had picked out for Katelyn, they heard a couple having a very realistic and super natural-sounding argument. Apparently, this is a thing that museum does on a regular basis. They just let couples pretend to break up with each other. Again, this seemed like a weird choice for a first date, but I guess then Nick can’t take anything too personally. It was all in good fun until Josephine slapped Nick in the face and until it was Liz’s turn. Liz wrote down all of her feelings and said everything that had been on her mind. Nick was annoyed, the girls were confused, and Christen looked like she might scream.
After Nick’s awkward afternoon with Liz, and confessing that he was living his own nightmare, he finally found the time to talk with Liz. In a move that I would think would garner him a lot of respect, he sent Liz home. However, the preview for next week’s episode shows the girls being incredibly upset about something. Is Nick sending a girl who he had history with home something that people would get upset about? I don’t know. Unfortunately, we won’t find out until next week. Damn that To Be Continued graphic.
Who’s Gonna Last? (My predictions, not spoilers.)
So, what do YOU think? Who else will get sent home this week? Will Corinne take a hint? How many more helicopter rides will there be this season? Let me know what you think in the comments!
