I hate when episodes end with “To Be Continued.” If last week’s episode would have finished in a timely manner, I would know that Lacey would not have gotten a rose and I could have removed her from my fantasy league final picks. Unfortunately, the picks were locked in last night and Lacey will remain in mine with a black and white picture and an X next to her name. The girls who did walk away with roses were Corinne, Danielle M., Christen (the other group date rose, and another thing I would have changed with my weekly picks), Astrid, Taylor, Brittany, Whitney, Kristina, Danielle L., Rachel, Vanessa, Raven, Jaimi, Dominique, Sarah, Alexis, Josephine, and Jasmine.
Before we move on to week 3 shenanigans, we must unfortunately address Corinne. I don’t want to. I don’t like when I feel like my post consists mostly of thoughts about the villain, but how do I not address this?
This is what Corinne did when she got time with Nick at the cocktail party. Where most girls take this time to tell a meaningful story or do something fun to be fresh in Nick’s mind, Corinne, who already had a rose, chose to wear a trench coat and ask Nick to lick Reddi Whip off of her boobs. Class act, that girl. Now, I’m not here to slut shame, but I will agree with what a lot of girls said in the episode last night- if Nick is responding to Corinne when she acts like this, is he really the guy that they want to be with? I mean, the girl slept through the rose ceremony. She just up and went to bed. And I’m not even going to mention this week’s scene about her and her nanny. You can watch it here, but I am going to move on.
This week’s group date was pretty hype. A confusing date card only read “Everybody!” with the names Danielle L., Christen, Kristina, Whitney, Taylor, Jasmine, and Corinne. Before Backstreet’s Back started playing, the girls started to catch on to this clue, which I call BS on. How do you automatically start singing that song with no other Backstreet Boys context? This date was a dance with The Backstreet Boys on stage, and a chance to be serenaded by them while you dance with Nick. Corinne, not understanding that she is on a nationally televised show, was nervous to perform in front of 500 people. Also, could The Backstreet Boys not get more than 500 people? After some bomb moves from Jasmine and Danielle L. and some great effort from Christen and Corinne, the boys were ready to make their pick. Nick ended up dancing (and making out) with Danielle L. on stage, and she also took home the group date rose.
On a one-on-one that seems like something out of my own life, Nick consoled Vanessa as she thew up. In her defense, they were in one of those fancy zero-gravity planes and they were floating all around. I probably would have puked too. After a conversation about Nick’s past loves, he gave Vanessa the rose. However, if the cocktail pool party is any consolation, I’m not sure Vanessa will want to keep that rose. At the end of the episode she didn’t seem super stoked by Nick. (See paragraph about Corinne)
The second group date was super clever. They had famous olympians come and judge a very serious track and field competition where the gold medal was Nick’s heart. It ended with Rachel, Alexis, and Astrid racing for a giant diamond ring that is a key to a hot tub with Nick. The best part of this is that Astrid was in third place but she ended up winning because the other two girls ran past the ring. This was a fun date to watch because it was like a field day at school. The girls were having fun and enjoying themselves. Alexis is very much the class clown and I totally want to hang out with her. Unfortunately, not everyone was having a great time. Dominique was doubting her relationship with Nick, who was also doubting the relationship. He ended up sending her home and giving the group date rose to Rachel.
In lieu of a cocktail party, Nick wanted a pool party. This was great news for Corinne, who probably hired her nanny (okay I talked about it) to blow up the bounce house that she had put on the front lawn for her and Nick to frolic around in. It did look like a lot of fun, but obviously don’t do that in front of the other girls, Nick. He is quite comfortable just kissing every girl in front of every other girl. This is part of the reason the girls started to get a little bit upset with him. This is also the reason that this episode ended with yet another “To Be Continued.”
Who’s Gonna Last? (My predictions, not spoilers.)
So, what do YOU think? Who else will get sent home this week? Will Nick sleep with someone before the fantasy suites? How are things going in your fantasy league? Let me know in the comments!
